In pursuit of these goals, KSI is dedicated to maintaining an environment which places the highest priority on mutual respect and sensitivity amongst its' students, faculty, and staff. An educational community functions best when there is civility and respect for the dignity and worth of each individual.

The principle of freedom of expression that might otherwise protect even the most offensive public speech does not protect, nor does it even encompass, a right to threaten the dignity and privacy of an individual. Such personally directed behavior will not be tolerated; it is antithetical to academic values, debilitates its victims, compromises the offenders, and undermines the school's fundamental commitment to individual freedom and respect for all its members. Furthermore acts of intolerance may destroy the very atmosphere wherein freedom of expression is otherwise tolerated and cherished.

It is the policy of KSI Graduate School to maintain a learning environment that is free from discrimination of any kind. This includes, but is not limited to, discrimination based on an individual's race, color, sex, religion, creed, political belief, age, national origin, linguistic and language differences, sexual orientation, socioeconomic status, height, weight, physical characteristics, marital status, parental status, or disability. KSI Graduate School prohibits any and all forms of discrimination because of those differences.

It shall be a violation of this policy for any KSI Graduate School student, teacher, or staff to discriminate against any person based upon any of the differences listed above. It shall also be a violation of this policy for any KSI student, teacher, or staff to tolerate any such discrimination of any person by a student, teacher, or staff.
